PART 2 - CREATIVE PROJECT - CREATE SOMETHING NEW OR SUBMIT CURRENT EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK

Submit your best example(s) of recent ORIGINAL work (that you made) or create something new for this application.

We are looking for examples in the areas of video, digital or hand drawn illustration / drawing / painting, character drawing, or photography.

If submitting digital photos or artwork, please include at least 3 examples of your best ORIGINAL work. Please do not submit more than 5.

If submitting a video - please include work under 5 minutes long (max).

IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO THE VIDEO PATHWAY, IT IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED THAT YOU SUBMIT VIDEO WORK.

YOUR WORK DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT. WE ARE LOOKING TO SEE EFFORT AND CREATIVITY.

The final deadline for this project and the DMAA application is JANUARY 31. Digital work can be uploaded using the link below. You can turn in physical versions of the project at the El Dorado HS front office if you choose, but we are not responsible for any damage that may occur - it is strongly advised to take photos of your work and turn it in digitally.

We will be evaluating projects based on your effort.

Rules -

1) Be creative and interesting. We are looking for evidence of your creativity rather than your technical abilities.
3) Use only ORIGINAL pictures, drawings and video. That means work that you have done. You MAY NOT include screen captures of video games, tv shows, movies, animations, web videos or anyone else’s work. No re-edits or mash up videos. No game walk-throughs.
4.) Export movies as mp4 files. Photos and illustrations can be turned in as slides, powerpoint, keynote, pdf, jpg or png files.
5) IMPORTANT - Include your name in the filename of your work so we can identify it.

PART 3 - CREATIVE ESSAY

Prompt: Why do you want to be part of the Digital and Media Arts Academy at El Dorado High School? Please describe the work you submitted for the CREATIVE PROJECT, what it means, when you created it and how much effort went into creating it.

Format: One (1) page maximum in length (Only what you can fit on one side of one standard sheet of paper, double spaced with one inch margins.)

In the header, please label this as "Digital Media Arts Academy Essay" or use a creative title, and include your full name.

PART 4 - EVALUATION FORM

It is the responsibility of our applicants to ask for a letter of recommendation.

Recommendations also need to be received by the January 31 deadline.

Please ask a TEACHER or MENTOR who can speak to your creativity, work ethic, ambition or effort, to complete the EVALUATION FORM or submit a separate letter of recommendation.

Please explain to your mentor that all application materials are due by the application deadlines.
