Regional Parks Fied Trip Request 2024-25
Our parks are your classroom! Get students outdoors learning about the world around them. These hands-on, inquiry-based experiences offer a wide range of topics while reinforcing Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Each program highlights the natural and cultural resources unique to each park.
Complete this form in order to request a field trip. Classrooms are able to participate in up to two programs per year. Several options have CHANGED so please review the topics, locations, and grade levels before making your selections below.
Field trips are held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for a maximum of 65 students per day. Programs are held in the mornings starting at 9:30AM and conclude at 11:30AM for TK/K, 12:00PM for 1st-2nd, and 12:30PM for 3rd and up. Schools are welcome to have lunch in the park afterwards.
The cost for the field trips is $7 per student in county, $9 per student out of county. Schools who have more than 50% socioeconomically disadvantaged students can receive a scholarship and just pay a $25 registration fee. These schools can also apply for a $250 bus transportation stipend, which is reimbursed after your field trip. Qualifying information on your school can be found on www.caschooldashboard.org.
Regional Parks staff will follow up within ten days to schedule your visit. Once confirmed, you'll receive payment options, logistics to prepare for your visit, and a reminder to reserve your bus!

Other scheduling considerations (i.e. desired month to support related units, avoid certain days of the week and school functions dates)?
For Climate Change Agents and Regeneration After Fire - Parks staff will deliver an in-person presentation to your classroom(s) to introduce concepts. These pre-visits are highly recommended to prepare students for the outing and are offered on Wednesdays. Are there scheduling considerations for your school?
