I breed for structure, health and personality first.
Color is not what makes a person love their pet. Sphynx come in all colors. Many people choose a kitten by color and it can lead to problems. Savvy less responsible breeders will have popular colors for ease of selling.

At Mamie’s Sphynx, we do our best to put the odds in your favor, our breeding cats are scanned regularly by board certified Cardiologists to ensure the parents have healthy hearts. This is the best tool we have at the moment, but it’s not perfect. Two parents with perfect hearts can produce a cat with HCM.

While responsible breeders put the odds in your favor, heart disease is pervasive in the Sphynx breed and there is always a chance any Sphynx can develop it despite our best efforts. Are you aware of this and do you understand? *

Due to the heart issues that can develop, we recommend all pet owners HCM screen their cats with a board certified cardiologist at 1. 3.5, 5.5 and 7.5 years old. At their interim annual check-ups, we recommend the IDEXX Cardio BNP test be performed. Are you willing to do these tests for your cat? *
