2021-22 ACC Relet Request Form
You may request to release your Lease to another person through the relet process.

Should your request to relet be approved, there is a reletting charge equal to $250.00. The reletting charge is not a cancellation fee, buy-out fee or a limitation of damages collectable by us.

Your obligations to your lease will be terminated once the Replacement Resident has completed all necessary paperwork, all fees are submitted as instructed, and the Lease Agreement for the Replacement Resident has been approved.

To relet your space, you must find an eligible Replacement Resident. For undergraduate students in a shared unit, eligibility is defined as a full-time, UCI student who is a sophomore, junior, or senior. For graduate students in a shared unit, eligibility is defined as a full-time, UCI student who is a graduate student. For students occupying a single-occupancy (efficiency, studio, or 1 bedroom) unit, eligibility is defined as a full-time UCI student.

** PLEASE NOTE: All replacement residents must be in full compliance with the University's COVID vaccination policy to receive their offer for the relet space. The leasing team will be checking this compliance with the campus and WILL NOT send an offer if the student is not in compliance. Please confirm with your replacement that they are in compliance BEFORE requesting the relet. **

Once you find an eligible Replacement Resident, the applicant must submit an application online, and email the property indicating they wish to relet your space. On the application the applicant may write “Relet from: (Your Name)” in the roommate request field. NOTE: YOUR REPLACEMENT CANNOT ALREADY BE AN APPLICANT OR LEASE HOLDER.

We will then assist the relet applicant in the leasing process and confirm with you via email when the relet process is complete. All arrangements must be made through the Leasing Center and no keys or funds may be exchanged between you and your relet. Your relet is considered a new applicant and will be signing a lease agreement and hold an account separate from your account.

If you are reletting your current lease, you will be charged up until the day before the new person moves in, to include the days that the bedroom is vacant so we can prepare it for your replacement.
  • This address will be where a refund check for your pre-paid rent (if applicable) will be sent once your account is settled after you move out. Failure to give us an address will result in your refund check being sent to the property for pick-up instead.

    This form represents my intent to relet my bedspace. I understand that this form does NOT guarantee that the Landlord will find someone to relet my bespace and that it is my responsibility to find a Replacement Resident.

I understand that per Section 2: LEASE TERM of the Lease Agreement a $250.00 non-refundable reletting charge is due and payable when Manager approves and executes the Lease Agreement for the Replacement Resident.
  • I have read the above guidelines and understand them. I acknowledge that my release is not officially approved until I receive an approval email from the Leasing Team. This form does NOT release you from your lease agreement.
