Mirror Lake is special and I urge you to vote yes on the application to create a Mirror Lake local historic district. Mirror Lake is a unique part of downtown with its variety and concentration of historic buildings and its landscaping and parks which give it a pedestrian feel unmatched by any other area of downtown. Creation of the historic district will provide decision makers with a much needed tool to help assure that the mass and scale of future development will be compatible. Over 100 years ago, renowned planner, John Nolen, recognized the beauty and value to St. Petersburg of Mirror Lake. Let’s make sure that we protect those values that Nolen recognized for our families and for the future.
