If you are a student or seeking volunteer hours for another organization, please indicate the name of the organization and number of hours you are seeking. Students, please note that we only are available for 1 internship a semester, and we have no physical location.

Support Groups
Connection Support Group Facilitator- must have at least 1 mental health condition and be 18 years or older to qualify.
Family Support Group Facilitator- must have a loved one who has at least 1 mental health condition and be 18 years or older to qualify.
LGBT+ Connection Support Group Facilitator- must identify as part of the LGBT+ community and be 18 years or older to qualify.
Psychosis Connection Support Group- NO MEETINGS CURRENTLY ACTIVE. Must have lived experience with any form of psychosis and be 18 years or older to qualify.
Young Adult Connection Support Group Facilitator- must be between the ages of 18-25 to qualify.
Other
Education & Destigmatization
Brochure Deliveries- deliver affiliate brochures to requesting provider organizations.
Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for Law Enforcement Presentation- must have at least 1 mental health condition, take NAMI's Sharing Your Story With Law Enforcement training, and be at least 18 y/o to qualify.
Ending the Silence Presentation- must have a loved one who has at least 1 mental health condition, OR must have at least 1 mental health condition and be under 29 y/o. Must be at least 18 y/o. Similar to IOOV presentation but is for grades 6 - 12.
Faithnet Member- a small advocacy-based group aiming to destigmatize mental health conditions in the church community.
Family-to-Family Class Leader- must have a loved one who has at least 1 mental health condition to qualify. Must take Family-to-Family as a participant and be 18 years or older to qualify.
Florida Legislature - work with NAMI Florida and attend legislative events as needed, primarily in February and March each year. Encouraged to attend NAMI "SMARTS" Advocacy training when offered.
In Our Own Voice Presentation- must have a loved one who has at least 1 mental health condition, OR must have at least 1 mental health condition. Must be 18 y/o or older. This is a lived experience presentation aiming to destigmatize mental health.
Join the team to support Gulf Winds Track Club! This important community partner needs volunteers for the Tallahassee Marathon (in February) and the Springtime Tallahassee Run (in April). This experience is a lot of fun!
Peer-to-Peer Class Leader- must have at least 1 mental health condition to qualify. Must take Peer-to-Peer as a participant and be 18 years or older to qualify.
Sharing Hope Member- a small advocacy-based group aiming to destigmatize mental health conditions in the Black community.
Tabling and Health Fair Events - Volunteer to work at events hosted by NAMI Tallahassee or community partners.
Other
Fundraising & Marketing
Business "share of profits" - Local business partners to provide a share of funds raised through attendance, purchase or other participation.
Flyer Runs- Deliver flyers to coffee shops, healthcare practices, diners, etc. to advertise for us.
Grant Aid - help our team find and prepare grant proposals.
Social Media- Help run our social medias, including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook. Helpful if you are familiar with Canva.
The Bluebird Run for Brookie B. 5K Volunteer- no requirements to volunteer. This is our biggest fundraiser, held each year on Labor Day weekend.
Translation- must be fluent in a language other than English and American Sign Language (ASL). Help us translate our website for non-native speakers.
Video Creation- help us create mental health related videos for our YouTube.
Other - Entry field appears when checked.
Operations
Author- must show writing samples to qualify. Help with writing our newsletter, or help help with writing articles for our website. You will be publicly credited for your work.
Email Creation- must be knowledgeable in MailChimp, Robly, or Klaviyo. Help create newsletters and email sendouts on MailChimp.
Membership - keep membership lists current, coordinate renewals, and assist in electronic communication. Helpful if knowledgeable in Excel and Gmail.
Membership Meetings - help with social events of fellowship with food and drinks provided by the affiliate. Secure facility, offer to set-up, clean-up, or plan.
Support Group and Meeting Attendance- help keep track of who is present at meetings and support groups.
Website Image Creation- help create images to be hosted on our website. Helpful if you have a background in graphic design.
Website Management- must be familiar with WordPress. Assist with website updates.
