The URBNmarket Bethesda will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014. This is a juried event, and we are seeking sellers of handmade and vintage items including, but not limited to, clothing, jewelry, bath and beauty products, toys, décor, pet accessories, and home goods. Limited number of imports and wholesale items and reproductions may be considered, but solely at the discretion of the URBNmarket. Food sales are prohibited.

Terms & Conditions

This is a juried event with a limited number of slots. We cannot accept everyone. This application is only for the May 18, 2014 event. Acceptance in the May 18, 2014 market does not guarantee acceptance in future markets. You must apply for each market. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. We will begin sending out notifications of acceptance on March 28, 2014. If accepted, vendor fees are due within five business days of acceptance to confirm your participation. We will not consider your application if it is not complete or we receive it after the deadline. A complete application includes all the information we request below, including photos.

Fee: The fee is $125 which includes 1 six-foot table and 1 chair. A vendor can request 2 six-foot tables and 2 chairs for a $250 fee. This is a promotional fee for the first URBNmarket. Rates may increase for subsequent markets. Vendors are prohibited from bringing their own tables.

Space: The vendor spaces for the event include 1 six-foot table or 2 six-foot tables. Excluding table(s) and chair(s), vendors are responsible for their entire display including full-length table cloths (to cover any items stored beneath tables) and business signs or banners. Vendors may not staple, tape, nail, attach, or otherwise affix posters, displays or signs to any walls or floors of the Anastasi Room and further not to mark, paint, drill into or any way deface the building.

Cancellation Policy: We offer a 50% refund upon emailed notification to the URBNmarket received up until 30 days prior to your scheduled event(s). Unfortunately, we can not offer refunds for cancellations within 30 days of your scheduled event due to the administrative work already done by this time and loss of revenue to the URBNmarket. If a seller must cancel after paying the vendor fee, he/she must email the URBNmarket so that another seller may be pulled from the waitlist. No-shows forfeit their right to participate in future shows. Vendors can not “sell” or "rent" their space to another vendor if they are unable to participate - we do maintain a waitlist and reserve the right to fill spots as we see appropriate.

Sharing Space: You may share a space with another vendor, BUT you must apply together. This is a juried event so we must approve both of you. All fees will be paid in full by one individual, not separately.

Day of the Event: The event takes place on Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Anastasi Room, located at 5020 Battery Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and set up time is from 8:30 am to 10:00 am and break-down time is from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. If you are not set-up on time or if you break-down early, we may not be able to accept you for future shows. Vendors are expected to be ready to start business at 10:00 am and to remain open until 4:00 pm. The vendor must maintain its display at all times during the event in a clean, neat and attractive manner.

Collecting Sales Tax: Vendors must pay all applicable sales tax directly to the taxing authority for all sales.

Insurance: Vendors must obtain and carry adequate (i) fire, theft, casualty and all other insurance required for any loss to Vendor’s merchandise and other property arising from any cause relating to the URBNmarket including fire, theft, burglary, shoplifting or any other causes and (ii) liability insurance to cover any claims which may arise.

Liability: Vendors shall indemnify, save and hold harmless the URBNmarket from any and all costs, liability, damages (including personal injury and property damage), claims or expenses which may in any manner arise from or relate to the vendors performance (or failure to perform) under this agreement.

Responsibility: The URBNmarket is not responsible for personal injury or any items damaged or stolen during the duration of the event (including move-in, move-out and the hours of the event). It is the responsibility of each vendor to transport their belongings and to not leave valuables unattended. The URBNmarket is not responsible for your belongings.
