Direct Relief is partnering with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) to provide $15,000, $20,000 and $25,000 COVID-19 relief grants to Free and Charitable Clinics, Charitable Pharmacies and State Associations.
Applications must be completed and submitted by
3:00pm Eastern Time on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Eligibility to Apply:
Organization must be a member in good standing of the NAFC.

Organization must be a Direct Relief Partner
• To be eligible to receive funding, awardees must also be a partner of Direct Relief. Please note, partnership with Direct Relief does not require your facility receive any donations of prescription medicines or otherwise. This funding can be used in the following areas: Programmatic Support, Medication Access/Adherence, Operational Support and NAFC Symposium Registration.
Specific examples of each category are as follows:
1) Programmatic Support
• Transportation Services
• Food Insecurity
• COVID-19 Related Expenses including testing and purchase of Personal Protective Equipment
• Immunizations
• Telehealth/Telemedicine
• Purchase of medical equipment
2) Operational Support
• Rent
• Staffing needs
3) Medication Access/Adherence
• Purchase of Medications for Patients
• Purchase of Medical Supplies to be Distributed for Patient At-Home Use
• Pharmacy Software, Cloud back-ups, Internet services (cable and satellite)
4) NAFC Symposium Registration
• Up to 3 NAFC Symposium Registrations can be included in this grant request.
• NAFC Symposium registrations are $399 per person
• Please note - this does not cover travel costs
• The NAFC Symposium will be held October 25-27, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Amount and Use of Grant Funds
$15,000, $20,000 and $25,000 Grants will be awarded depending on the scope of the needs and related budget justification. Partial grants may also be awarded.
COVID-19 Grants cannot be used for the following:
• Debt retirement
• Costs already being reimbursed
• Lobbying and political activities
• Capital campaigns/improvements
• Evangelical work by religious organizations
• Individuals
• Fundraising drives/events
• Event/Conference production
• Endowment funds
• Travel
• Development/fundraising staff or programs
Reporting Requirements
All grantees will be asked to provide reporting on use of funds at the 6-month mark and at the 12-month mark of the grant period. Reporting will be submitted electronically using an online form provided directly to grantees by the funders.
Award Decisions
Notification of the Grant decisions will be made by April 30, 2020.
