COGS Parliamentarian Application

This form is for those who wish to apply for the Eboard position of Parliamentarian. The role of the Parliamentarian is to advise on points of order or procedure during COGS Full Council Meetings. COGS uses Roberts Rules of Order as the standard for conducting business/meetings.
Additionally, as member of the COGS Eboard, the Parliamentarian is invited to participate when available, in events and activities in collaboration with Eboard as the leadership body of the Council of Graduate Students.

• Term: for purposes of this application, the term for service would go to April of the current academic year to April meeting of the next academic year, and remain as consultant to transition new parliamentarian until end of Spring semester of their term year. Consecutive academic year terms are possible at the discretion of the Executive Board who appoints this position.

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO SERVE AS COGS PARLIAMENTARIAN YOU MUST:

-Attend all of the COGS regular Full Council Meetings. COGS Full Council meets once per month on Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm to approx. 8:30 pm. Full council dates for the upcoming academic year will be set at the current year April meeting. Meeting dates will be posted here: https://cogs.msu.edu/governance/

-Attend Eboard meetings. COGS Eboard meets once per month -TBA, (usually on Wednesday evenings). Meetings normally take place one or two weeks prior to the full council meeting. Meeting dates will be set in April of the current year and may be subject to change as needed.

-Confirm you did not request a refund of the COGS tax for the prior and current semester. *
