Housing Exemption Form 2024-2025
First and second-year students who wish to commute during their first or second year must receive an approved housing exemption from the University Housing Office.

Housing Exemption Request forms are due on the following deadlines. Submissions received after the deadline will not be reviewed until the next semester, and housing charges will apply until the exemption is approved. Exemptions need to be renewed yearly.

Fall Semester Deadline: 08/14/2024

Spring Semester Deadline: 10/30/2024

2024-2025 Academic Year Housing Exemptions Requirements to apply for a housing exemption:

*I am 21 years of age or older by the start of the Fall semester (Move-in day, August 14, 2024)

*I am commuting from my parent or legal guardian's full-time home address within 25 miles of campus ( 3333 Regis Blvd using Bing/Google Maps)

*I am married or with children

*I am a transfer with at least four full-time semesters of consecutive coursework completed prior to Regis with a history of living on-campus

*I am a transfer with at least 60 units of coursework completed prior to Regis

If these do not apply to you, you are not eligible to apply for a housing exemption and must reside in on-campus housing.

  • First years, second years, and transfers students should submit the Housing Exemption Form. This form is only for exemptions. Please note that all exemptions request will be verified by University Housing & Residential Engagement.
  • To complete your housing exemption application, please provide the necessary documentation. Acceptable forms of documentation include a utility bill, marriage license, or transcripts. If you are applying to live off campus with your parent or legal guardian, please include proof of their legal guardianship or parentage, such as a birth certificate or custody documentation.
