The mission of the Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, III’s Summer Youth Internship Program is to establish partnerships with the business community to develop young talent, provide a paid work experience and employment opportunities for young adults in District 1 between the ages of 16 and 23.

To make this initiative a success, we encourage talented and highly motivated individuals to apply. Candidates should possess proficiency in the following areas: communication, time management, teamwork, initiative and be motivated to learn.

Minimum requirements for applicants are:

• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale
• Unofficial transcript from current enrolled educational institution
• Resume (Must be submitted as Word or PDF)
• Completed Summer Youth Internship Program application
• Applicants MUST attend two mandatory activities below:

SYIP Orientation: Wednesday, June 4, 2025 - Location and Time: TBD
Closing Ceremony: Monday, August 4, 2025 - Location and Time: TBD

The Summer Youth Internship Program is an eight week (June 9, 2025 - August 1, 2025) paid internship. Interns must be available for the complete duration of the program. To be considered for an internship position, please fill out the Summer Youth Internship Program application in its entirety by May 2, 2025.
